How much experience do you have?
Our Squad comes with barking experience! EVERY individual working with Dog Squad LA has experience at animal hospitals, doggie daycares, boarding facilities, training facilities, and/or in rescue. All of us have dedicated our lives to the well-being of animals and it is our mission to make every dog’s day all across LA.
How do I get started?
Leash up! First you will register to become a client here. Once registered, you will be able to book your free 30 minute consultation with the owner Courtney Green. During this consultation, your dog’s routine and needs will be discussed, all questions will be answered, and we will assist you in booking your first adventure on our easy to use client portal!
How do I request dog walking & house visits?
Requesting services is easy and can be done at any time of day on our online scheduling system. This is where all of your information is kept and where your schedule is. You are able to download the app or login to the portal online. If you need to schedule services just click on the “client login” button under “client” on our homepage of our website. From there you can put in your schedule request. It is your responsibility to keep your online information current for your dog walker.
When do you pick up the key?
You must have a key ready for pick up during our first consultation. If the key is not ready at this time you can schedule a time for pick up within our office hours (up to $10). If you are planning on using a lockbox outside of your door then you can put the code for the lockbox under “house access instructions” in your client portal account.
Can I tip my dog walker or pet sitter?
Absolutely! A cash tip can be left out with a note letting them know it's for them. You also have the option of selecting gratuity through your client portal invoices menu. 100% of your tip goes to your dog walker.
Do you have a Referral Program where I can benefit and how do I sign up?
We’re pleased to offer our clients a free 20 minute visit (up to $26 in value) when you refer one of your family, friends, work colleagues or neighbors to Dog Squad LA. Once they complete their first adventure with the Squad a credit will go into your account.
The more clients you refer, the more visits you earn. You’re automatically entered into this program when you sign up with Dog Squad LA. We believe our business success is based on referrals and amazing service!
What if I have multiple dogs?
At Dog Squad LA we believe the more the merrier! If you are a multi-dog home, aka Squad, you will pay a flat fee of $6 per visit. For families with 4+ dogs we may recommend a longer visit to ensure fun for all. Big families deserve to have fun, too! Plus, let’s face it – the bigger families are the ones that need the most help!
Will you feed my dog or give medication?
Of course! All you have to do is pick how long you’d like the visit to be and note what needs to be done and we do it. If you’d like us to walk, feed, play and give medication during your visit we are happy to do so! Feeding and standard medication distribution is FREE.
There will be a special handling fee of $10 for fluids, insulin distribution or other injections that require expertise.
Do you offer overnight services?
We no longer offer overnight services due to workers comp and state laws. However, we offer 3-4 house visits a day as an alternative to overnight sitting. We make sure your dog has adventure packed days so they sleep tight at night. If overnight sitting is the preferred choice for your family then we are more than happy to refer you to trustworthy locals.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, venmo transfers, debit and credit cards. Clients are able to save a preferred debit or credit card on file for automatic payment on our client portal.
Why do I schedule my visit within a 3-hr time frame instead of an actual time?
As we all know dogs can be unpredictable at times so some days require a little extra time, love and care. By choosing a 3 hour window, you give us the flexibility to give every dog the attention they deserve.
Can I schedule recurring walks?
Absolutely! You can easily schedule recurring walks through our online scheduling system. Once you have activated your account you are able to request services under “schedule” --> “request new service”. It will then ask you if you’d like to schedule a single visit or multiple visits. You can customize weekly visits, long term recurring visits, and payment plans.
Can I do same day bookings?
We do allow same day bookings but we cannot guarantee that your preferred walker will be available. We do our best to accommodate you and your best friend’s needs so we ask that you book at least two days in advance.
Are there extra fees for evenings or weekends?
We have a weekend surcharge of $3 for every visit between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening. Every other evening has no additional cost.
How do I know if my dog walker completed the visit?
All of our dog handlers use a time-stamped GPS check-in and check-out system through their phone app which is connected to your online account. When they arrive at your home they check-in to your account and when they check-out a report card will be available to view.
Will the same person always walk or visit my dog?
Generally, yes. We will assign your best friend with a primary dog walker. If you have a dog that goes on regularly scheduled walks with us 5x a week we have one walker assigned for your dog. We also have a back-up walker trained to substitute for our walkers if they are sick or go on vacation. All changes will be communicated with you beforehand.
